When to Book a Checkup — and What to Expect
July 15, 2025 · Bowglen Care Team
Many patients wonder whether their symptoms warrant a visit or if they should wait. As a general guide, schedule a checkup if you have new or worsening symptoms, have not had a preventative visit in the past year, need prescription renewals, or want to discuss screening tests based on your age and health history.
During a routine appointment at Bowglen, we review your medical history, medications, and any concerns you want to address. We may check vital signs, order lab work if needed, and discuss preventative care such as immunizations or cancer screening.
Appointments are designed to feel unhurried. Bring a list of questions, current medications, and any relevant test results from other providers. If something has been worrying you — even if it seems small — this is the right time to mention it.
Preventative care is one of the best investments you can make in long-term health. Booking before problems become urgent often leads to simpler solutions and greater peace of mind.
